Zoe Beyer is A24’s Creative Director and has been driving their transformation into a full-fledged brand through their merch shop, social media, and podcast (which rules), as well as initiatives such as A24 Auctions and Public Access. Last month, she launched 2 new books, Horror Caviar: A Cookbook and For Promotional Use Only, and a collab with Scarr’s Pizza for Mike Mills’ latest film, C’mon C’mon. On the side, Zoe has been working with previous PI guest Bijan Shahvali (Intramural Shop) on sourcing and curating an amazing inventory of vintage movie-themed apparel and accessories for a new A24 x Intramural collaboration. The first collection drops tomorrow morning and you can preview it here. Zoe has great taste and lucky for us, she’s here to tell us what she’s been into.

Normal cashews are oily and gross. Sprouted cashews are delicious. They have a crunchy, light texture and slightly sweet, earthy taste. I love them. Sprouted walnuts are good too.

I have a small collection of novelty cookbooks and this one (published by the ‘Lakers Ladies Foundation’ in 1985) is my favorite. I don’t want to make Jerry Buss’s eggnog, but I like knowing that I could. More sports teams should make cookbooks.

One of the most romantic films of all time. Warren Beatty and Diane Keaton play hot American socialists John Reed and Louise Bryant. They meet in 1915 in Greenwich Village, fall in love and then get swept up in the Russian Revolution. At one point Louise has a love affair with the alcoholic playwright Eugene O’Neill (played by Jack Nicholson), also deeply hot. It’s 3 hours and 15 minutes with a budget that would be over $100mil today. I can’t believe this movie exists.

I’ve had a primal fear of Australia ever since watching the movie Wake In Fright. Recently my husband introduced me to 60 Minutes Australia which is basically a true crime show, not at all like the American version. I don’t know if it’s Liam Bartlett’s reporting style or the stories themselves, but it’s the craziest non-fiction program on television.

Siberian cats have the temperament of a golden retriever, the fur of a chinchilla and the tail of a raccoon. They are also the most hypoallergenic of all cat breeds. Two years ago, somewhat impulsively, we stopped in Vermont to get a Siberian kitten on the way back from Montreal. She’s like an animatronic teddy bear.

The Etsy community is very friendly. Most Etsy creators will make things custom if you message them with reference images. Linda of FacciDesigns does the most intricate needle-felted animal sculptures. She made me a wedding cake topper with our cats. During the Midsommar campaign, I needed miniature flower garlands made for the Bear In A Cage toy. My Etsy-savvy colleague Gaby found Judy and Melissa who both specialize in dollhouse wreaths and floral arrangements. Together they made over 400 garlands by hand.
