These days Alex is the Events Lead at Highsnobiety, where he's continuing to throw epic parties, and a Co-Founder of Shipping Media, a streaming platform hosting interesting live streams in the worlds of music, fashion, art, and nightlife. I was never much of a golfer,  I’m an award-winning sailor which took up most of my time as a kid, but recently I’ve been spending a lot of time at the Chelsea Piers Driving Range. I’m not very good *yet* and I miss the balls most of the time, but when you strike it just right and it goes flying, it’s the most cathartic experience. Plus they have food and drinks!

This Japanese sake speakeasy hidden behind a sushi bar off of St. Marks is easily my favorite bar in NYC. It’s covered from floor to ceiling in graffiti and is always playing the best music. Perfect for an intimate night out with old and new friends. Their sake selection can’t be beat.

Easily my favorite record label, with artists from Drain Gang and Yung Lean to Viagra Boys and Provoker. They’re based in Stockholm but they have a completely global spread. The heads and artists have been close friends of mine for the better part of a decade and I take any chance I get to go to the shows when I’m in town. Definitely worth listening to their full roster!

I recently finished this amazing Chinese sci-fi novel. It’s about a contemporary world in which scientists learn, through trial and error, that physics no longer exists (and may have never existed). I won’t spoil too much, but it is being made into a Netflix series slated for release later this year.

I have to travel every other week for work and having a reliable bag that can hold everything I need is a must. I recently bought a Rimowa Cabin Classic in Paris and my life abroad has gotten significantly easier. The classic aluminum design is not only light and structurally sound but looks really cool and rugged. I go everywhere with it!

Working at Highsnobiety has given me the opportunity to execute some of the coolest and most large scale events of my career. The magazine focuses on how youth culture intersects with new luxury, and Willa, our current editor in chief, has taken it in a direction that has made my position a lot of fun. We’re always thinking about how to make each event a better experience than the last, by breaking into interesting venues, and adding unexpected elements, like serving bumps of caviar or a live manicure bar with custom Highsnob nail decals. At our recent Paris Fashion Week party with StockX, Julia Fox, her friends, and half the cast of Emily in Paris showed up to eat, drink, and dance. It’s awesome that I get to continue my dream of creating spaces for people to just have a good time and let loose.

This is one of NY’s best kept secrets and I’m a little hesitant to publicly reveal it, but it is a real gem. My friends and I have been really invested in canned fish as of recently and this is the best place to buy quality caviar at a discounted price. It’s deep in Brooklyn on Ave X near Sheepshead Bay, but well worth the trip. If you make it out there, be sure to stop off at Lucia Pizza a block away and get the clam pie on Fridays.
