Hemlocke Springs is a North Carolina-based art pop musician and overnight TikTok sensation. Her breakout single “girlfriend” was one of my favorite songs last year and Hemlocke has since built a dedicated fanbase and continued to craft a uniquely compelling sound on new tracks like “gimme all ur luv” and “heavun.” She recently played Lollapalooza, announced a mini tour, is working towards her highly anticipated debut EP. In the meantime, you can watch the psychedelic fairytale music video for her latest single, “sever the blight.” Lucky for us, Hemlocke here to tell us what she’s been into.

Evaporated Milk

I despise the milk in milk cartons with a passion. Whenever I need milk, I go out and buy evaporated milk (usually comes in a can; not to be confused with condensed milk). It’s a bit thicker, sweeter, and tastes better than the ones in cartons (in my opinion)! These days, I have it a lot with my Captain Crunch!

Walks (especially up hills)

I (admittedly) don’t do this as often as I should, but it’s SO underrated. I suggest walks whenever you need to clear your head. Specifically, I believe everyone should walk up a hill at least once a week. The act tires me out and leaves me grumbling everytime, but the walk down a hill is one of the most rewarding feelings I’ve experienced in my life.

Hanshik Express

On my last week in LA back in February of this year, I asked my manager for food recommendations because I was tired of eating Panda Express and Dave’s Hot Chicken everyday. He recommended this place and quite honestly, I nearly chewed him out for not recommending it sooner! The bento box is so good (I always get Combo B) and the portion sizes are perfect! If you like Korean food, I highly recommend checking this place out!

I don’t think this needs any explanation! I love her music and her voice is amazing. I recently went to her concert and I was surprised that I knew about 75% of the lyrics to her recent album. I NEVER know lyrics, including my own, so that’s how I knew I was a mega fan!

Mother (the kdrama)

I watch so many kdramas, but if I have to recommend one, it would be mother, which is actually a remake of a jdrama of the same name. I got so emotional watching this series; Literally on the edge of my seat! The watch was emotionally fulfilling (and spoiler alert: happy ending)!

Divoom Retro Pixel Art / Bluetooth Speaker
