Earl Cave is an English-born, New York-based actor, model, and musician. You may know Earl from his recent role as Caleb in Sean Price Williams’ critically acclaimed movie, The Sweet East, starring alongside Talia Ryder, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Simon Rex, and Jeremy O. Harris. Earl’s past credits also include his role as David Fry in The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, Daniel Bagnold in Days of the Bagnold Summer, Hort in The School for Good and Evil, and his hilarious feature as Frodo in the TV show, The End of the F***ing World. Aside from Earl’s career as an actor he has worked as a model, notably collaborating with Celine as the face of the 2023 Spring Summer 2023 Celine Homme collection. Lucky for us, Earl is here to tell us what he’s been into.

My friend recently showed me this album by Blod Besvimelse called Geleit Ins Totenreich (Escort to the Realm of Death). I’ve never heard anything like it and I can’t stop listening to it. It sounds like something you’d play at Dracula's funeral.

Dario Argento is an infinitely interesting Italian filmmaker. His films bring me a lot of comfort. He made a lot of whacked-out horror films in the late 70s onward. In terms of the acting in them, they’re not exactly masterclasses but his use of prosthetics in his films are awesome. Heads exploding, almost neon red blood, witches, dolls, a cool monkey. If you’re into that kinda thing… His use of music is great too. The Italian prog-rock band Goblin did the score to a few of his films. When they filmed Suspiria (1977), they actually played the score on speakers as they were filming to freak out the actors and drag them into his world. Whether you like it or not, it’ll drag you in too

Giacometti is really sick, I love his sculptures but I think his most interesting work are his portraits. If you see one of his paintings, look at it from the side. They’re so caked in paint, they’re basically sculptures themselves. He also has such a loose way of drawing, they’re quite abstracted yet have an incredible likeness of the person. Not really sure what happens with the heads, they look like they got shrunk in the wash.

Oh Las Vegas. Sweet, awful Vegas. I just went there for the first time last week. Span The Mask themed slot machine once, won 20 bucks, cashed out and went home. Big win. Never going back. You should go.

I have this Casio synth, I got on Portobello Market a few years ago. I like to bring it around with me when Im travelling. It has a really shitty drum machine in it and a couple good sounds. Sometimes synths can have way too much going on. This thing is strictly no bullshit.
