there’s a vintage store that i’ve been visiting in my dreams for years. sometimes it’s filled with the best finds imaginable, sometimes it’s kind of bare. the worst is when i show up and they’re closed.

Whenever I dream of San Francisco (Home) the steepness of the hills is INSANELY exaggerated, so much so that the sidewalks have ladders built in them, and that type of terrain extends through the sunset district. The Golden Gate Bridge is somehow impossible to find, and so you have to jump from tide pools to tide pools during low tide to get to the Marin Headlands, which look more like instant Muir Woods. I always visit the same apartments, and San Francisco Conservatory of Music (alma matter) is an enormous, wood paneled and marble cathedral. It all has an air of grandiosity and absurdity.

sometimes I visit a trampoline world in my dreams but I can’t stop running full speed and jumping really high and the dream always ends when I jump off a high platform with nothing to catch my fall. The changing store in your dreams sounds way more interesting and terrifying though

that I inherited a house with a previously undiscovered subterranean level with dingy muted-color plush-or-shag-carpeted rooms that looked like they hadn’t been touched since the 1950s-1970s depending on their style and everything was covered with a thick layer of dust.  there would be several large expansive bathrooms that were fresh and clean and I would sometimes find people in them and we would engage in territorial disputes. I haven’t had one of these in a while. Realizing I had missed math class for the entire semester, was failing, and I didn’t even know where it was or what my class schedule was (probably because I’m bad at math, skipped a lot of school, and did in fact fail classes as a consequence of not doing work). Always dreams of large labyrinthian buildings, often schools with a grand entrance hall and a huge performing arts theater, but sometimes nightmarish facsimiles of luxury apartment buildings and their residents which are already disturbing enough in reality.   A shopping mall with a two-story Walgreens that has escalators inside.  There’s a movie theater at the mall where you enter and go up a cramped set of stairs to get to the lobby, and a department store that’s more on the level of a Kohl’s than something upscale. Wild animals (lions, tigers and bears—oh my!) stalking the streets at night and I’m the only one who notices or cares.  Going to a dimly-lit combination zoo/aquarium/museum where all of the interior rooms are black, animals are just roaming free, and I never get to see every exhibit. Pet stores with hundreds of aisles filled with cages of mistreated cats and dogs. Once I dreamt that I found a parrot with all of its feathers plucked bare and a broken beak.  I nursed it back to health and it transformed into a mighty leopard. A dusty old town center somewhere close to Mexico in the old west.  Escaping from mass shooter and murderer situations.  Evil shape shifting entities that I recognize from previous dreams.  Watching a movie and then I’m in the movie or the same with video games.   Oh and also my pets often accompany me on my journeys!

been having dreams in my fav local coffee shop a lot recently. the regular baristas all have recurring roles and are consistant in their characterization, i basically have a dream sitcom within this cafe that's been a few episodes so far. idk why this started happening but it doesn't help that i've also been seeing the baristas out and about around town, establishing them as recurring characters in my waking life. i had one of these dreams last night that's a bit fuzzy but the one i remember most is one where i walked in and it was like they had turned the saturation slider down way low (you can see from the picture that their whole brand is usually super vibrant and colorful) and they all were dressed in cafeteria lady outfits complete with yellow elbow length rubber gloves and hair nets and all the things they served were like lumps of sludge that came on a tray. it was like a collective gag though and they were trying not to laugh the whole time.

it became my personality over night. suddenly i was the girl who left the sleepover to take the canoe out, singing “may it be.” that’s still me.
