There's something special about having an artist you love that happens to be from the same geographical area / community that you're in. Even if you have no other relation to the band, even if they're decades before your time, it's always neat to believe that somehow, that creative input is uniquely inspired by that thread you share. Local acts are fair game, but don't be afraid to drop some mega famous artist that you like to rep for being from your state/city.
