Is it normal to find yourself avoiding political conversations with your friends? I’ve always identified as left, but even with my liberal friends, I feel like there’s a growing disconnect. Maybe it’s because my views lean more fringe, or perhaps it’s because their perspectives feel increasingly identity based. Either way, I’ve noticed a shift where even among like-minded people, the space for disagreement or nuance feels smaller and more precarious.
