Blondshell (aka Sabrina Teitelbaum) is a NYC-born LA-based singer and songwriter. She has been active in the scene since 2016, originally releasing music in the alt-pop sphere under the name BAUM. During the COVID lockdown she began crafting the sound that would lead to Blondshell, and her incredible self-titled debut album came out earlier this year. It is angry and refreshing, perfect for lovers of the 90’s alt-rock girls, including Kathleen Hanna, Pj Harvey, and Fiona Apple. After a busy fall opening for Liz Phair on tour, you can still catch Blondshell at several festivals coming up next year, including Laneway, Shaky Knees, and Roskilde. Lucky for us, Sabrina is here to tell us what she’s been into.

It doesn’t have to look the same for everyone. I’m sticking to ones that feel true to me

When I’m on tour I’m always inhaling haze and getting a sore throat. This helps me.

I’m from the east coast, but I’ve lived in LA for 8 years and my body has completely acclimated to warm weather. Lately I’ve been obsessed with wearing long underwear when I’m in cold places.

I’m listening to The Roches, Female Species, The Beach Boys. Obsessed with a stack right now.

She’s incredible. It’s just so something I could never do and it’s amazing to watch and fun to try and replicate.

This is an obvious one, but I just keep coming back to it and finding new meaning in the songs. I can’t stop crying about You’re Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go.
