I started watching this again recently after I found out my girlfriend thought it was a show (a la fear factor) where people try to survive in a shark tank. Last month I thought about starting a bath mat company after not being able to find a bath mat narrow enough to fit in my bathroom. Watching Shark Tank is a good reminder that just because I could start a bath mat company I probably don't want to.

I went on a deep HGTV dive in the early pandemic times and find myself constantly going back. It has truly everything from strange homes that look like fruits to competitive antiquing. I put on flea market flip to fall asleep some nights, a show where âdesignersâ take things from flea markets and somehow always make them significantly uglier.

Whenever Iâm going thru an anxious spell or working on an album/preparing for a show.. I usually have 0 brain power left by the time I get home after a long day. My favorite escape is frying my brain with really bad *but amazing* reality tv. 90 day fiancĂ© is my go-to but so many others get the job done.. married at first sight, the ultimatum, etc.Â

I love this short film. I love the flatness of the collaged stop motion. This short film led Jim to make the âAnd She Wasâ music vid for Talking Heads. I like that one too. I really ripped him off for this Slow Pulp music video I made. His process seems to involve these extensive photo shoots to source all the pieces for his collage rather than flipping through National Geographic. I would love to try something like that.

I can rarely explain why I like this video but Iâll try. At this point on the internet thereâs a million hours of content that are more realized than this. Oddly satisfying Instagram accounts. Food pics. Made up games on tik tok. But Koki made this in 2006. We were still a few years off from the food pic and people werenât really being stupid on the internet yet. They were being dumb and they were being idiots but stupidity is like simple and kinda smart and self-aware. The video reminds me of abstract geometric painting with the saturated colors and basic shapes of all the objects. Like I see it the same way I see a Kazmir Malevich or Wassily Kandisky painting. There's a lot of funny sounds too. It's not quite good enough for the "oddly satisfying" instagram standards of today. Itâs more like 6 minutes of mundane hypnosis.

I've been a very jealous person at times. I'm sure you have too. My biggest pet peeve is people gossiping or complaining about people that they are actually just jealous of. I try my best to notice when I'm acting like this. It's annoying and a waste of your brain. When you're jealous of someone it's because they possess something you don't have. So if I'm feeling jealous I ask myself what do they have that I want? And then I can just add that thing to my ever changing list of desires and detach it from that person.
