New York City-based CLIP is one of my favorite up-and-coming rappers right now. Her beat selection is among the best right now and that's especially apparent on her debut album APPETIZER.
My favorite moments are on songs like "twilight zone" where the production feels like if Bladee made a fast paced cloudy dance track, and CLIP's vocals feel right at home on it. And she's also great over huge 808s like on the banger intro "yeahh(L's)" or on softer pop cuts like "sandy toes."
I'm really impressed at her range and I can't wait to see where she goes next.

I first discovered Oklou when she opened for Caroline Polachek on the Pang tour in 2021 and thank heavens I did because she just released her premiere album and it is a marvel! She‘s an incredible producer/DJ, and she’s worked with some of your favs to bring back that early oughts frutiger-aero-esque sparkle sound you imagine hearing in an all-white interior spaceship.
My favs off this album (so far) are obvious, ict, and blade bird. I also highly recommend her songs god’s chariot and galore off her 2020 mixtape known by the latter name.

been a fan for a while but I think this most recent album of hers is my fave (last one is great too). was most impressed by how she reinvented her music, particular the "bedroom pop" songs from her early career. I honestly wondered beforehand if she'd even play them, she's matured so much from that part of her career, but she fully redid the composition for them. And there's a flute and saxophone solos allllll over this show. You can tell she loves music and wants to make it an experience for the crowd. Ya gotta see!
