Weird, poignant freaky sci-fi. I just read the first book (Dawn) and immediately went and got the second one. Just ignore the cover designs that don't match the tone of the books at all
Octavia Butler can be hit or miss for me but I am appreciating the alienness of the aliens (the books are about aliens)
I am also suffering through Kingdoms of Elfin, as a 6 year old might suffer through a brussels sprout
