I watch this guy’s YouTube channel before I go to sleep quite a bit. Not sure where he’s from, but he’s got a distinct / endearing presence behind the camera. Froggy goes to garage / yard sales and conventions and buys toys/comics/games etc. and then flips it on Ebay.  A lot of the folks he buys from recognize him from his videos, and it’s incredibly charming to get a peek into the community of resale / bargain hunting. There’s a decent amount of Star Wars / He-Man toy type stuff which I love, but hey, you might not!

not really into youtube qua youtubers, but I miss when people like this were the face of doing vintage / thrift deep dives.

Ant Lab - cool close up & slow motion videos of bugs, & something abt the guy’s mannerisms is just ridiculously endearing Biblaridion - really into linguistics & makes conlangs (cool), but i really love the alien biosphere series!!! it’s a speculative evolution project where he’s just creating a whole world from scratch Cor Canish - makes a bunch of stuff abt Elder Scrolls, really really fun & editing is remarkable Featureman - a lovely old man makes cheap but (probably) yummy food & talks to u 4 a while. he’s really funny League of Pigs - lots of happy & well loved pigs race for the championship (to the food trough) Myron Cook - another lovely old man, does geological investigations into bizarre rock structures. equally good for learning or falling asleep Steve Wallis - another lovely (oldish, not really) man, makes stealth camping videos. total cutie Worthikids - really fun animations!!!! & featureman voiced a character in Bigtop Burger <333

It seems I find a bunch of new videos I want to share every month so let me break it down for you here --It all started with this guy who has parking his car in his ultra tiny apartment down to an exact science and this guy landing a paper airplane onto the tram.Moving on from there, I watched some guy get a 1928 Model A running again, which led me down a path of “Abandoned ____, will it run?”-YouTube. Everything from old planes to cars and trucks. After a few SteveMRE’s inspired by Leia’s recs, I found a new favorite nook of YouTube - DeWayne from Dry Creek Wranglin’ School. He’s just an older “wrangler” living out in Texas, making YouTube videos on his iPhone XR a subscriber recommended. Sometimes he’s chattin with a cigar, going over the rules of wearing cowboy hats, while other times he’s teaching you how to buy a horse. I don’t need any of the advice he gives in my daily life, but I just cant get enough of his drawl as he goes on passionately about saddle rifles, trail etiquette, and his “time clock” on life. His is the only YouTube channel I’ve actually clicked the bell to let me know when there’s a new video to queue up.

The LP version of this track is great, but it’s always nice to stumble upon a 12 inch remix that changes a song just enough to make it new again. The Winans are a gospel group from the 80’s/90’s with a lot of wonderful songs. I’ve only scratched the surface of their discography, but so far they’re all hits to me.

I started buying records again in the last couple years (pretty much stopped when I was 19, and got into “comedy” 🥴…) here are some recent faves:A silly Dutch hip hop record from 1986. It samples Madonna’s “Holiday” and is featured in the old school viral video “Little Superstar” (maybe that’s how I found it?)… I played some records at a party recently and played this one and people were seemingly getting as much of a kick out of it as I do, so that was nice.

Chips and salsa is one of the best things I think, but it’s tough to find store bought salsa that comes close to something you’d find at a restaurant / taco shop. This salsa right here though is something special. It’s creamy, light, and spicy, and is a nice change from the typical red / pico de gallo -ish salsa you’d typically grab at the grocery store.
