here are some of my NYC tops thus far (i am still looking for my favorite...) -Ear Inn 7/10 (patty's got a good kick, i asked gary the owner if they add an excessive amount of black pepper as the secret, he didn't confirm. buns were dry last time though) -Superiority Burger 8/10 (i have yet to try a whole one by myself bc friends always insist on SHARING but that won't happen next time) -Raouls 6.5/10 (way too fucking messy for that price... felt feral... yet tasty) Thai Diner 7/10 (i love going to asian restaurants just for american-style burgers) -Burger Joint 6/10 (great spot for selfies in the hotel hallway before/after) Shake Shack 8/10 (how can you not) Corner Bistro 5/10 (it was fine) -J.G. Melon 5/10 (overrated) -White Mana in NJ 8/10 (maybe doesn't count) i'm partial to smash style and prefer sandwiches with structure sans the bulky patty BS... people have also suggested burgs from Long Island Bar, Minetta, Bernie's, and Lexington Candy Shop (thank you/you're welcome)

Superiority Burger

Superiority Burger is the best restaurant in New York City. It has a passionate and punk spirit, and their flavors are unmatched. Something about the food and the ethos reminds me of the food I grew up eating in the Bay Area. Creative, seasonal, fresh as fuck… it’s very grounded and connected to the source but still playful. You can literally taste the magic! I’ve been going there so long and so often that I’ve become a known regular and am now friends with the iconic owner Brooks. I have been in spiritual pain while they’ve been on hiatus for the last few months preparing to re-open in the old Odessa diner space. When they finally open you will probably find me and Nancy there 5 days out of the week (if not 7…lol). See you there! P.S. Their cookbook also has the world’s best banana bread recipe- TRUST ME.
