Having a permanent Marguerite Wibaux sculpture installation on top of my stove with Mara Catalan, Dada Shikako, and Locker Room prints as a backdrop is so much chicer than using one’s oven to store shoes.

The current exhibit at the jacquline sullivan gallery (NYC)

Beautiful glass pieces, vintage furniture and lighting ranging from the 1800s to modern day. I love how the exhibit was curated & general flow of the room. Really one of the better openings I’ve attended!

I remember a few weeks back there was some discourse about how good the band Failure is, and I want to use this opportunity to echo a growing appreciation I’ve been seeing for the 00s indie rock band Pinback. i really mess with their album Blue Screen Life (2001), super fun, melodic, bouncy guitar music with post hardcore guitars, sugary vocal harmonies and buzzy synthesizers. While I think you’d obviously be into them if you’re into like Jimmy Eat World or Death Cab, I also would recommend for fans of The Postal Service, Frou Frou, Blonde Redhead, even like Unknown Mortal Orchestra or Stereolab. this some melancholic indie pop/post-emo with electronic elements and creative songwriting yall. Cibo matto - Stereotype A

I loved this band for a while but I started listening to this album after someone from work played Moonchild for me (unreal song). Awesome Shibuya-kei/electronic vibes throughout, but also filled with super nerdy musical references (metal, lounge, 90s hip hop). Yeaaaaah its Kind of like if the Frost Children listened to Stan Getz and Dan the automator instead of Skrillex and Fall Out Boy. And if they were from Japan instead of like probably Minnesota or Connecticut or whatever. Sean Lennon was in the band at this point that's pretty cool. Miho hatori is so goated too I just learned the she was the original voice of Noodle in the Gorillaz. Also this cover is fire, looks like Michel gondry adaptation of I'm blue daboodeedabodie! Fav tracks: spoon, clouds, moonchild For fans of: Cornelius, stereolab, early Bjork, everything but the girl
