At party with a bunch of disparate groups of people? Unite them all with a game of cards. Card tricks? I don’t know any so I’m automatically impressed. Don’t have a deck? Most bodegas have them so now you have no excuse. Pack of cigs pack of cards please n thank you

It’s nice to be the one in the friend group who always has a game planned. I keep one deck in my purse and one on my car. Then have some quick games that are easy to teach. I suggest:

i always always carry a pack of cards in my bag. my cards have been to all the countries i’ve been to and have been soaking wet, in snow, in sand... they will fall apart soon.
i probably end up using them 50% of the time but at this point they are a safe item that i know i can whip out if you need to spice it up with your friends. i love learning new card games and my goal for 2025 is to ask more strangers to join in and play a few rounds with me and my friends.

there is nothing more attractive than when drunk at 3am a game of cards is suggested, then someone grabs a deck and pulls out some casino level shuffle. on the 2024 must learn list.
