one of my favorite ways to discover new artists. put in the name of an artist you like and it generates a map of other artists you might like; the closer artists are together the more likely youā€™ll like them all. discovered so many gems using thisā€¦ (the gnod website has other cool tools like this one but this is the one i use the most)

Every time Spotifyā€˜s algorithm hits a wall in terms of giving me new music, I use this site to look for new releases but I specifically look at artists whoā€˜s music I havenā€™t heard before or if Iā€™m feeling super experimental Iā€™ll only look Into genres I've never heard of or barely know. I highly recommend this, itā€™s a fun way to discover new artists and music in generalšŸ¤© Music roamer is also a goated way of finding artists similar to your faves https://www.musicroamer.com (use the desktop version)

I know not many people like to discover new music, but this is a good tool for that! If you find a good artist first, then you are actually as entitled to take credit in their music as they are!

a cool little website that showcases songs on spotify that either have never been played or artists with very very low listeners. will you come across some weird shit that you may not be into? hell yeah, but that's part of the fun. i've personally found so many cool artists and as a small independent musician myself, i know how easy it is to get lost in the void. the underground is calling bby.

german record label dedicated to re-releasing arabic funk and jazz records from the 70s&80s. i donā€™t speak a word of arabic but the music is so good. so many infectious melodies. perfect blend of funk, jazz, disco, a little psych rock. perfect cooking music. discovered from the ramy soundtrack (v. good show i also recommend this) which features many songs from them. as a starting point i suggest the album ā€œmodern musicā€ by Al Massrieen. https://youtu.be/am_utNHjclk?si=R4PAGIwTBo_Tn-w_

hear me out.. when i got seriously into literature a few years ago, watching other people talk about books was a major catalysts. their passion and love for literature was just so contagious. some of my favs are better than food, colorless wonderland, dakota warren, jack edwards (donā€™t really watch him much anymore but he was one of first booktube loves) another tip is just be very intentional and set a time goal: aim to read for a specific amount of time every single day. start with a time so small that you canā€™t not do it (20 minutes every day). make a habit of it and then as you fall in love with a book or with reading in general, you'll find yourself reading so much more just for the joy and pleasure of it
