1972 funk and soul hidden gem
The Equatics - Doin It!!!! This album was self produced, recorded and performed by a group of high school seniors inside of their school gym in 1972, it’s incredibly soulful, funky and tender. The group never recorded another album again! Don’t let this album be lost to time, it’s amazing!!

The roots had a band behind them, really beautiful insturmentals. I'd start at "What They Do" Also look at Warren G and that whole g-funk set. They had solid backing tracks.
