I wanted to add a CD player to my home music setup, but couldn't find anything that both looked cool and was in my budget. after some research (reddit.com "cool cd players"), I found out that audiophiles LOVE the CD player that is built into the PS1. I plugged it into the receiver I have my turntable hooked up to, and it works! I don't really know if it sounds high quality or anything but it sounds good to me. It's a bit tricky to navigate the menu without a screen, but I think with a little more practice, I should be able to enjoy my CDs without too much fidgeting.

I recently discovered mine, Samsung CD Yepp to be exact, and it changed the way I listen to music. I started listening to full albums again instead of just singles you can easily stream. For me it’s not about sound quality, although it matters of course, but mostly about consciousness. Since then I collected my mini-collection of CDs I will pass to my children. Kinda regret I got rid of old phones, especially BenQ-Siemens EL71, but hope to thrift it one day

I've been burning more and more music into cd's lately and been enjoining the experience of physical media. My mom used to have a bunch of CD's and cassettes when I was a kid and have honestly been getting tired of paying a monthly subscription to music apps. I got a decent portable CD player on Amazon for like $20 and thrifted a bunch of blank CD's and a CD case at my local Goodwill.
