i have been learning irish again through taking classes and also duolingo and there’s a huge joy in rediscovering my second language. i’m doing it for work reasons but more importantly i’m doing it for *me*. is maith liom ag labhairt gaeilge!

in a few days i'm hitting the one year mark since i started learning korean!!! it feels so good and rewarding. this was the first time i decided to learn a new language (not as a class in school) and i'm actually surprised of how much i've been enjoying the process. i'm taking weekly personal courses online but i also recommend sticking to duolingo and lingodeer and holding on to that streak

or literally any language learning app or method. maybe it’s the academic nerd in me but there’s nothing more rewarding than learning. like i Love learning new languages 🤓 so go off and get connected to others though language, au revoir and sayonara! (p.s. you should totally add me on duolingo so we can do friend quests @ babiemetal) … now realized I should’ve claimed that username on here

Took my first Portuguese class today after months of Duolingo. It was really scary at first but once you realise everyone in the room is at the same level it feels really good to lock in and stop being scared of making mistakes. Plus I made two new friends already I never would have met otherwise! My brain feels like it's had a really good workout.

it’s my birthday today and frankly i *relish* getting older. i am lucky to be able to celebrate my birthday with my loved ones. being 34 is great pass it on
