Does your town have shit vintage? Overpriced and hard to find? I highly rate a quick browse through ebay. Especially for clothing. Bags can get a little exxy if you are looking for vintage designer but clothes can be found a plenty if you know what you're after. A simple search of 'vintage tartan checked kilt skirt' can return a wealth of options. Happy spending.

i know this is vague and not immediately helpful but my true favs have come from hidden corners of vintage shops or random searches through ebay. good luck searching.

looking up vintage/style name oftentimes pulls up overpriced resellers (LAME… end the depop industrial complex). but, if you look up the specific thing you’d like - e.g. “wool skirt” - you’ll likely find a lot more people listing that exact thing (including older more quality pieces) but with reasonable prices (plus, it reduces overconsumption by making you think about if you actually need/want a specific thing or are just looking to buy random stuff)

Like I said before about eBay, it's the best. My favorite search terms these days are "antique oddity lot junk drawer," "vintage courrèges," "vintage cacharel," "vintage ungaro," "vintage louis feraud," "antique medical bedpan urinal enamel," and "vintage enamel vase." Also fun to mis-spell things that should be very expensive and see if anyone has discovered them, e.g. "Gugci purse." truly no greater joy than picking the movie you want to see at a time you want to see it, eating your own popcorn and settling into a dark cinema seat. It’s the best viewing experience to be off your phone, not thinking about anything but the image in front of you.

A better alternative to goodreads - it is so much sleeker in UX design and creates fun charts and graphs with your read books. Plus, it’s not owned by Amazon (like goodreads is) fuck capitalism, get StoryGraph.

Book covers are literally designed to get you to pick them up. They are specifically targeted to a certain type of person, so if you like it then there is a high chance you'll love the book.
