People like to complain about the Park Slope Food Coop, but it's one of the only places in NYC where you can get an organic bouquet of lacinato kale for $1.75, olives for $2, and cheeses for just a bit more than $2. There are also quality olive oils well under $18.99, cheap loose teas, inexpensive coffee, Oatly for under $4. Dragonfruit and pomegranates! You might even make a friend.

I shop late-ish at night, so a 24-hour situation is important to me. This place is in the best neighborhood, and they don’t even jack up their prices. Milk Is $1.99 and a huge tub of pineapple cut up is $4.99. They sell huge water bottles for a dollar. The flowers outside are beautiful, and it’s on Prince Street, and the name is SOHO GARDEN…it sort of glows all pretty on the block at night, too. It’s my favorite place to buy pre-cut fruit in New York City; it’s all in tubs. You dig through the ice with your hands. You have to ask them to wrap up the pineapple, though. It’ll drip everywhere.

All the goods sold here are made in New York State. Many, even closer. I stopped in today and got some delicious Cherry jam, a candle, and Caroline’s guidebook to shopping local in New York City: it’s fun to read, packed full of great recommendations, and other cute little surprises.
