Going to the orchestra alone

I've been to see orchestras play twice recently at the local concert hall. I got my tickets for £5 both times. I put on a nice little outfit and walked through the park and got a glass of wine and sat down with everyone else and experienced awe!! I am new to classical music and I always come out of it with my ears feeling refreshed. Everything I listen to (of all genres) after sitting through a performance or listening to a whole symphony sounds so much more alive

Paris Philharmonic

Going tonight for Essa-Pekka Salonen’s homage to Kaija Saariaho. Tickets to events are so affordable and the programming is amazing this season. I wish I took advantage sooner. All major cities would benefit from making classical music, operas and ballets more accessible.

been watching amy sedaris on letterman all morning. so effortless and quick, feels like something that doesnt exist anymore but im not sure what. Her 4am tour of her neighborhood is history. also her home tour for new york mag is so good.
