This is the most devastating book I've ever read. It is one of my favorites. It will make you appreciate the good times even more.

ā€œThe People in the Treesā€ is incredible. If you like a good mystery and/or have even a passing interest in the field of anthropology, I highly recommend. Incredible debut that was eclipsed (hehe) by the self-indulgent extended character study that is ā€œA Little Lifeā€

Every memory is as crisp and clear as the day it was made. The good ones which I daydream about, and the bad ones which make me nauseous. I donā€™t like the latter very much but my brain seems to; playing them like film on the back of my eyelids while I try to sleep. I donā€™t know if I would recommend this actuallyā€¦

William Reed wrote, ā€œThe sky contains it all. It is the canvas on which the entire universe is written.ā€ I look to the sky in times of adversity. The stars often remind me just how vast the universe is, and suddenly my afflictions become manageable. I am reminded of how beautiful the world is when I see the birds fly in formation overhead; when I see the sun set and the sun rise; when I look on at the moon and feel connected to everyone from all of time who have done just the same.
