I still use my wired earphones. Noise cancelling and Bluetooth headphones are great for a jam out and I own a pair but I hate charging things (or more so I forget), I’m lazy and I love my wired earphones. Love to hear ambient noises in the background sometimes especially on a walk alone. Also I’m a ceramicist and a painter, it’s just easier sometimes to be able to use my dirty hands to pull the wire and get them to pop out of my ears rather than having to clean gunk off my expensive Bluetooth headphones.

Literally wiredhead/earphones are kind of the most beautiful analogue technology still relevant and accessible available to us today. I personally have earphones and it brings me such joy to just take a second to untangle them before popping them in like I think it's important to wait a couple seconds before receiving exactly what you want, no? Also it just adds a certain materialness to the listening experience that's very satiating. Getting to press buttons for the volume that click, getting to hold the wire that delivers my music to me, getting to wrap it around my phone or crumple it in my hand when I'm done makes it feel like a part of the musical experience, ritualises my music time no matter where I'm doing it, on the bus, in the grocery store, or even my parents' basement. I just love my earphones and I think everyone should feel like this picture of Sonam Kapoor in Delhi 6 at least once to feel the magnitude and magnificence of being alive at least once.

Never have to worry about losing an earbud OR CHARGING THEM. I can never go back to bluetooth. Also the concept of bluetooth scares me idk how we did that as humans

i lost my airpods a while ago and because i don’t like wearing my huge over-ear, noise-cancelling headphones all the time, i got some classic wired headphones from apple for like 20 bucks. the audio quality probably isn’t amazing compared to other headphones, but where it lacks in audio quality (and practicality, frankly), it makes up for in sentimentality. wired headphones can take so many different shapes and they allow you to hear the music around you, like kids playing after school, couples bickering about stupid stuff, etc, etc. also, when it gets cold out, i love putting them under the hoodie or sweater i’m wearing and having them stick out and hang at the collar :,)

And you’re set for life (with the added effort of maintaining it). I used to try to surround myself with people who I thought were cool and also tried so bad to fit in. I still do feel conscious about that sometimes when I front for a person I place on a pedestal or really am infatuated with (in a platonic way). I’ve also had friends I get easily frustrated with who point out my mistakes as jokes but I’ve realised are super flawed and insecure. It becomes a relationship where you slowly turn into a projection of them. (I’m not sure how to phrase it). And I’m the kind that forgives very easily the moment someone is nice to me. Howeverrrrr… over the past few years and more so over the past year I found a group of people I could be open and comfortable with… and I have to say an open and fulfilling relationship with the right people and friends will make you a much better person overall. I’ve also been so inspired by the circle of friends I’ve got now. It’s not necessarily the friends who always ask you to go out to shop or hang but the friends who you do things with and talk about anything with. Gratefully & Gratituously, I love my friends.
