I work in admin at the zoo and have learned an insane amount about the conservation work they’re doing around the world with critically endangered animals (critical as in there are literally two in existence critical). I’m here three days a week and you know I’m hanging with ChiChi the gibbon, penny and harry the African rhinos, and tunko the gorilla who waves at people

fascinating animals, remarkably intelligent like all primates, I was tempted to say orangutans but gibbons cohabitate with them and it’s a very cool relationship. A friend “adopted” one for me as a birthday gift, this is Courtney, and I love her

I’ve been pretty obsessed with this baby tapir from a Washington zoo that I came across on Instagram. I probably share new photos/videos of it to my story every other day and I hope my followers are not fed up yet! She will lose her stripes and spots soon, and then, I fear I will move on…
