every time I visit friends in Williamsburg, we make the stop at Brooklyn Ball Factory for their tiramisu latte. if you live in NYC, you should visit; if you donโt care about coffee, they also have really yummy bento.ย
anyway, this latte haunts me. so this morning I realized I didnโt have any milk for my coffee (I just moved!), but I did have a tub of cottage cheese and Greek yogurt, which I know can be combined to mimic mascarpone.ย
I blended them together in a 3:1 ratio of cottage cheese and Greek yogurt with about 1 tablespoon of maple syrup, a dash of vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until it formed a nice whipped texture. I gave it a taste and Iโm happy to report it has that complex mascarpone flavor thanks to the tartness of the Greek yogurt!ย
I brewed some espresso and poured on the faux mascarpone topping, then messily added some cacao powder. If you find yourself without milk and in need of a fancy latte, try this and report back ๐ฐ
