purchased under slight duress (cashier stared at me while i perused the candy).
i thought the smaller pieces would be redundant, extraneous, even unnecessary. i was wrong. this is more than a late night snack. it's a R*ssian nesting doll of flavour, a symphony for the senses. the big outer layer of chocolate leads to a substantial layer of peanut butter, leads to smaller layers of candy pieces, which themselves contain smaller layers of peanut butter.
though almost certainly envisioned by a stoned R&D intern (who will never see a nickel for their contributions to humanity) i had the sober realization that the Big Cup is its own ecosystem. everything exists in perfect harmony. the Cup's individual parts work with, not against, each other.
because of this, the smaller pieces could never be redundant. they offer contrast, depth, creativity. they give the cup meaning, where none would otherwise exist.
