Fancy mushrooms (trumpet, maitake, and the like) taste so much better than basic ol’ criminis or baby bellas. At Costco they sell a gigantic box of them for 7 bucks, only $3 more than the teeny box at Whole Foods. Obviously not always convenient to go to Costco but if you’re there grab a box—it elevates everything
(bonus tip that actually works: sautee dry without oil first to get them golden and crispy)
