Iā€™ve been on and off meds for about a decade now and I have a complicated relationship with them- I am a raging hypochondriac so when Prozac stopped floating my boat and it came time to try something new, my OCD made me too scared of side effects to commit to anything. I also let the stigma kinda get to me and was defiantly off them in college when I needed them the most :-/ but when Covid hit I was likeā€¦. Perhaps itā€™s time to dive back in ā€¦ and Iā€™m so grateful I did. Absolutely no shame in it I love my lil pills

every body and mind is different but from maybe 16-22 I had been taking a myriad of prescriptions for my mental health while I balanced school. Had felt incredibly emotionally stunted and unfeeling or impulsive while taking several kinds of medications and got worse, was unreceptive to any therapeutic help during life stresses and landed in hospitals multiple times. Making any kind of change to a poly pharmacy routine is ā€¦ risky In the middle of the onset of COVID lockdowns I weaned myself off meds with my doctors assistance and did very intensive psychotherapy, got more active and got a job that I enjoyed. Experienced very deep personal losses in friend and family as well as relationships. I teetered on the edge so many times, but I do not regret any decision Iā€™ve ever made because I have the tools and willpower to take over any conflict and talk myself through it Again every one is different but if you feel like something isnā€™t working for you, take charge over what you can do for your own mental wellbeing

I know some people have to experiment to find the right one I found mine off the bat Iā€™ve been on them for prob 7 years I love them idk whereā€™d Iā€™d be without them That being said people do have really bad experiences just try not to let the stigma sway you in either direction Also give it time to work

i used to be so scared of taking meds, Iā€™d had a history of bad reactions to anti anxiety medication. but my adhd meds have been completely life changing. they are the only thing that has ever helped my ME/CFS and I am the most functioning I have been in 6 years. Donā€™t be scared to try things that might help, cause if they work boy can they work! Iā€™m so grateful for them this morning!

truly Americaā€™s pastime. I was reading in the park earlier and overheard a girl dishing about a breakup to her friend who was kinda implying she was in the wrongā€¦ and she was like ā€œso did I lie? Yes. But I meant it at the timeā€ and then explained to her friend how the NYT connections puzzles work. I only hope people are as thrilled when they listen in on my crazy ass. I love being nosy

really just stretching your whole body so intensely youā€™re using muscles you didnā€™t even know you had and squeaking like a little mouse. wiggling like a worm on the sidewalk after it rains when you poke it with your shoe, but a little slower. maybe more snake than worm. but to each their own
