I'm not talking notes--I'm talking letter-length expressions of love for the people in your life. Not necessarily romantic, but honestly expressive. Maybe I should say, "love meditations?" Anyways, get deep into one, put words to paper, and I guarantee you'll realize that more of your relationships than you think are profoundly intimate in all kinds of ways. AND you set up a scenario in which you can be the most courageous version of yourself: taking mature ownership of your feelings by actually delivering that bad boy.

With everything you do. Write a love letter, make someone something sweet, show up with a boombox outside someone's window blasting In Your Eyes, buy someone flowers, do something meaningful, go on a spontaneous trip with someone, tell someone you are thinking about them, look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how wonderful you think you are, read a poem, get lost on the dancefloor, listen to a good song, smile at something tender, listen to Sleepy Lagoon by the platters...the possibilities are endless, you should try it sometime...

Looking back, the most meaningful moments of my life have been those where I‘ve felt closest to those I love- typically as a result of a shared experience or a vulnerable/honest conversation. If my time was running short, I think I would just put any awkwardness aside and tell people what they mean to me and how much I love them. Such conversations may also reverberate and inspire others to be more intentional in their relationships with the time they have left.
And to echo another rec, I think it’s important to first identify what is most important to you personally and then invest in that. Brene Brown’s values exercise might be a good place to start!

My friend and I happened upon this. Meaning, strive to live your life in a way that makes you feel hot. Dress to feel hot. Talk to feel hot. Do whatever you do, but in a way that makes you feel like you're worthy of the love and adoration and crushes and desire you deserve. This does not mean "sexy" necessarily--hotness is always shifting and has many forms. But reach deep inside and you'll find that your own personal method and mode of hotness can always, and most of the time is, an excellent guide.

Kind of a genre of medieval paintings, but confirms to me how horny people have always been and how we've always had to sublimate our desires into the dominant culture. It's so weirdly explicit and bizarre, and has so many layers in how it would have been used: a painting to look at, a page in a prayer book to speak as a script, a physical object to touch and venerate and meditate with.... like imagine people fingering this "wound" and being like, yes this is honestly totally about jesus. Crazy.
