I have always felt that tech house was a dirty word in dance music circles, far too often it reminds me of the following:
- generic tracks filled with cheesy risers, annoying vocals, repetitive beats that go nowhere
- massive festival stages full of stimulant and alcohol fueled bros
- in general, a soulless and commercial sound that is anodyne enough for people to keep dancing and not venture out into deeper waters.
enter B. McQueen, a French-English DJ/producer who has reinvigorated my love of this maligned genre. the sound is much more of a head trip and a eyes closed, heads down feeling in dimly lit dancefloors than fistbumping and shuffling at stage 1. this is music for the murkiest of clubs
