I wear glasses, and because of that I opt to have prescription sunglasses as well. Some days when I’m out and about, I’ll just bring my sunglasses as to not have to keep track of two pairs of opticals. But you know what happens when I sit to have lunch inside? There is almost always a “Wow sunglasses inside huh?” comment. Like yes, I actually strategically planned to do this + I’m trying to look cool + it has nothing to do with my blindness.
I have never in my life cared enough about critiquing someone that I stopped to make a comment on their sunglasses. It’s almost as if as an adult you’re able to…idk…not care enough about what someone else is wearing? “Oh but is it cool?” — who cares??? Is whoever is asking that question the king or queen that determined what is / isn’t cool???
This isn’t a dig at the question being asked, it’s just the reactions of the people who seem to be so taken back by it. It’s one of those things that you can, with inner peace & therapy, get past the need to always comment on what other people are doing. Live life unbothered. Let people do what they want, “cool” or not.
