its the perfect blend of fiction and nonfiction. Capote is a journalist and wrote the book after investigating a murder but he writes the book as if it were fiction from the perspectives of the victims and killers. He fills in the gaps with dialogue that may have taken place and the feelings the victims might have had during the home invasion. Itโs a true story but very engaging read, plus it has a beautiful cover!
Basically birthed the true crime genre / creative non-fiction genre. Capote was a problematic figure, even as he wrote this book, becoming entangled with his subjects in a compelling way. And his writing is beautiful.
Iโve mostly been shooting with Ilford hp5. Itโs 400iso so probably not meant for landscapes but alas, itโs all I had. This is a picture from Switzerland. Kodak Gold is also my fav colour film.
-Member of the wedding by Carson McCullers. Made me feel like a tween again which was unexpectedly beautiful. Her more popular book The heart is a lonely hunter is very good too!
-Jess+Moss by Clay Jeter is a really beautiful movie. Gorgeous colors and cinematography and heartwarming story.
-recently watched Fried Green Tomatos, also very heartwarming and beautiful. All about love and interpersonal relationships.
-Second Place by Rachel Cusk also gives some great food for thought on the search for meaning.
