What if Cape Cod but somehow in the Bronx? Walk from the end of the 6 line through the park and across a bridge to maybe the most idiosyncratic place within city limits. You’ll find one main drag with dead ends into the Sound on either side. Real community feel and people do live there year round, but most of the businesses are seasonal seafood joints. Ideally wait for opening season and grab fried lobster tails and an $8 pina colada at Johnny’s.
