It's perfect for when you want to make it clear that you acknowledge the message and are choosing not to respond. Some people will view it as passive-aggressive, which it is, but it's also really funny.

I was at an event last night in which the host, a born thespian, was pontificating at great length. Someone in the crowd shouted “say less” and it def hit me (and the host) in this way which made us both lol
