(slight spoiler) I love to watch Phantom Thread when I’m sick. The music and imagery are beautiful and not abrasive, everyone speaks softly with precision, most of all watching Daniel Day-Lewis suffer from illness alongside me is very comforting.

Kind of a lie cause I did rewatch it once (when I was sick for some reason) and I cried so hard I couldn’t breathe. Beautiful movie, don’t regret seeing it and i probably will watch it again someday, when I have someone else to subject to the torture, but I think that day is far into my future. It’s one of studio Ghibli’s best movies but its hard bringing yourself to watch something you know is so painful to see. When I watch it the moment I start crying I don’t stop till after it’s over.

Not on purpose.. but don’t sweat it when it happens by accident.. it’ll dry quickly enough, then the paper will harden into a crispily wrinkled texture that is so nice to flip through. ok if you must do it on purpose.. drink from an iced beverage on top of your notebook and dew from the surface of the glass will drop down nicely.

In elementary school my best friend and I made up a religion where the deity is a tree in the school yard. We’d go to the tree and pray for good grades and bad luck to the girl we did not like. At the end of each prayer, we’d say “sasasasa” as an amen, an onomatopoeia of sand flying from a gust of wind.

The method of picturing people naked never did anything for me. I like to imagine them getting dressed instead: first picking out a bottom, then a top, looking into the mirror, evaluating, trouble shooting, finalizing. It’s so human.. the little desire to impress. Recommend for when you’re bored in public.
