- (if rare sun day day) walk from about Fort Mason and through Chrissy Field to the bridge and walk part of it (start anywhere from the Ferry Building on if you want a longer walk, but beware tourist crowds earlier on). Alternatively approach from the Richmond (stop at Arsicault for a croissant) and walk through the Presidio. Less recommended on a foggy day (prioritize the Mission in that case) - walk around Golden Gate Park and pick one of the gardens or museums inside as a destination (my favorite is the botanical garden) - get some combination of tacos/ice cream/tiki drinks in the Mission/Castro and sit in the sun in Dolo. Likely you’ll see some really weird shit and/or get offered at least one kind of substance - if you have car access, go over to Mt Tam or another part of Marin/Oakland and hike or picnic in the refwoods - good local food places with multiple locations (so you can fit them into your day) include Souvla, Tartine, and Arizmendi

- There are many excellent taquerias in The Mission (la taqueria is a classic, I am partial to Buen Sabor on Valencia), but I've been going to El Falorito basically since I was a kid, probably the best burrito in the city -City Lights Books is a classic bookstore to just hang out in, but Vesuvio right next door is a wonderful spot for a drink -There's a new park in the Presidio that's fun to have a picnic at! -Bottom of the Hill always has gigs happening, it's got a gig calendar up. 924 Gilman St if you're more into punk music but it's a BART and bus ride over into Berkeley (which you should also check out if you have time) -A bit outside of SF as well, the Marin Headlands have some wonderful hiking, but you will need a car to get there, similarly Pacifica/Half Moon Bay have gorgeous views of the Pacific, but a car will be required -You could spend hours in Golden Gate Park, I like starting at the De Young and then going from there. SFMOMA is a classic as well.

i lived in the mission for a year and sometimes i forget that! Ty for reminding me. - taking a stroll at crissy fields. preferably on a sunny day. the view of the bay and bridge is awesome and really sells the im in san francisco - if you want to splurge on eats please go to Zuni Cafe! It’s classy California chic. order a martini and a pile of french fries if you’re not up for a full meal - for a fun drink there’s true laurel and any drink pairs with their patty melt (would also recommend just the patty melt🤓) - my old dive haunt was the 500 club + they have a photo booth - garden creamery has a rotational / seasonal ice cream menu that’s always yummy. grab a scoop and walk to dolores park - the tea leaf salad!! at Burma Superstar - catch a movie at the Roxie they have awesome programming - don’t be afraid to walk up some hills. some random neighborhoods can have epic views i hope you have a great trip 🫶
