I love hand-writing a letter. the delayed gratification of it, talking about anything and nothing, decorating it with cartoons and drawings and stickers. Sending little extras and photographs with tiny micro-playlists scrawled out on the back of it. It takes at least an hour to craft a good letter, one worth receiving and replying to, and it's intimate to think about someone nonstop for that long. I just love that form of communication.

its actually quite relaxing to do and depending on who youāre writing to you get to yap a lot. My friend likes adding random questions to think about too in case you canāt think of anything. Plus itās like a little time capsule you receive from friends or pen pals. Also your stationary actually gets put to use instead of catching dust if youāre like me and enjoy buying and collecting it.

i have always wanted to be a pen pal, writing hand witted letters and then mailing them off to a stranger overseas, telling them about my life and hearing about theirs.
thereās something so beautifully intimate in the act, waiting patiently to hear about someone elseās life that is so much different from yours due to their environment!
or even reading a book, annotating the book, and then sending it off for your pen pal to also read along with your annotations.

a few weeks ago i got the sudden urge to write all my friends a letter/postcard and now i am finding all their replies in my letterbox! let's bring back pen pals, they create infinite joy!

As pi.fyi gains popularity I notice more and more people using it like twitter/trying to hit an algorithm/ātweetdeckingā recs/memeing
so incongruent to me because pi truly feels like a place of respite from all the aforementioned internet behavior. using it to identify and share small joys from your day, talk about things you want more of in your life, share about yourself, explore things youāre curious about ā¦ I promise thatās āgood contentā. š«¶
