i finally realize it’s becoming a habit as today was the second time within a week where I walked out of the theatre and just felt like sobbing—both films were comfort films i think really is just a rush of emotions from good movies that actually convey feelings well in a realistic sense. life’s been a bit dull and i feel a bit numbed from a bad year last year with all kinds of emotional breakups, so sometimes two and a half hours of strong emotions on screen is just a bit too much, but i think it’s keeping me from complete oblivion and it’s kinda nice anyway i always think crying a little is healthy

was so so sad last night and found myself at the movies. started sobbing the moment i sat in the chair for reasons entirely unrelated to the film (although it was very sad). kind of relished in it though bc the cinema unlike buses/trains/cafes is like the only public space where you wont be scorned for crying. its the only acceptable place outside of the comfort of your home for you to sit down and have a good wail because everyone will think ur crying about the movie and no one will judge u.

either it’s been imbedded in my dna or it’s the circumstances i was placed in. im somehow always crying during movies when a character is going through something devastating, eyes watering because a song is “so good”, or even silent and trying to soak up the moment because i know i‘ll remember forever.

Or at a gallery. Really just being publicly moved by art because isn’t that the point?

it basically means “i’m here already, i might as well be at peace with it” started truly believing in it a few years ago when i first moved to nashville. there are a lot of things i don’t like about my life, down to daily tasks like having to wait for a bus despite being an impatient person, up to not being proud of my own family dynamic, but i'm learning to make peace with it—this is the one life i’m gonna have, and some things i just can’t change, whether that’s for now or for a long while
