My dad got it for free at some Microsoft event and gave it to me in middle school. I have very fond memories of burning CDs from the library and putting it on this brick of a device. I was so attached to it that I used to REFUSE to sign up for Spotify because I didn’t “like my phone and music being on the same device.” Very easy to use, loved that it was black in contrast to Apple’s white. Would never look good inside pants pocket because of how fat it was though.

mp3 players are cool. The iPod was really cool. Used iPods are expensive. Used Zunes are relatively cheap and easy to open up and replace the battery and hard drive if needed. Get a Zune.

And every day i regret getting rid of it. And no buying one wouldn’t be the same, I want MY old blue iPod! before that I had a portable tape player that came with a fabric multicolour case in the shape of a dragon that doubled as a bag, and had speakers, but I mostly used that for audiobooks on holiday or sleepovers at my grandparents as I listened to stuff to go to sleep. At home I had a little green cd and tape player that was very round and very cute. In my tweens/early teens I decided to be cool and weird and ditch new technology and replaced my iPod with a cd walkman, and my motoroler razor flip phone for an old Nokia brick. (Mostly because I was bad for losing things and I was scared of losing fancy phones).

eventually i got an ipod touch when i was old enough but that little $10 mp3 was my LIFE. I learned how to navigate the internet/lime wire too young just b/c i wasnt trying to pay for anything. Occasionally I would buy CDs of my favorite albums and rip them <3
