no that’s not a typo. this is my first reco! sorry to have kept you waiting… i’m on kind of a cleaning kick right now. there might be something wrong me with me, but i really look forward to doing laundry 😅 lately i’ve been washing everything with dedtergent from DedCool. specifically the fragrance 05 “SPRING”; it’s cool, comforting, and smells like my freshman year high-school crush. (hope you’re well Asher) 😜 there are notes of incense, bergamot (my favorite), and moss, which give your fabrics the most effortlessly light, but present fragrance. it’s safe for sensitive skin, and per the company, dedtergent contains a proprietary organic blend of 21 mood-boosting plant extracts that have anti-inflammatory properties to support wellbeing. they’re also certified carbon-neutral, and in 2024, that’s something to be proud of. so anyway, go wash your sheets! luv u 🫶

I am very into SCENT. I am wild for SCENT. I also HATE certain SCENTS (if a guy smells bad, it's the end of it 4 me. Conversely, if he smells good, it's devastating 4 me).  All that to say, this laundry detergent which I found at a magical italian grocer in NJ, has made my life such a better place to be. It's a really soft, clean musk that lightly lingers on your clothes and sheets. My clothes are dried on a rack instead of in the dryer (for the environment!) which makes everything crispy, it's very  Ferrante-esque.

There have been a handful of occasions where I’ve smelled the now-discontinued shampoo my mom’s late best gay friend Jackie used (who called me his little bitch when I was growing up and taught me everything I know about style, elegance, and attitude) and it made me cry. The smells of lumber, soil, and wood varnish remind me of the countless hours spent in my childhood with my dad in the greenhouse, the back patio workshop and at various supply warehouses. The smell of creosote in the desert rain—sorely missed and I want to buy a candle or something that replicates this because it’s my favorite scent in the world. L’Eau d’Issey Pour Homme on a shirt-collar takes me back to the warmth and security of first love and reminds me of what it feels like to be home. I’ve posted that I wear Fracas every time I want to remember a happy significant day so that’s probably my most strongly nostalgic scent. The smell of old books and cigarettes! When I come into my apartment after stepping out for just a moment after making espresso and the lingering smell makes me feel like I’m in a cafe! The smell of a REAL Christmas tree! Yesterday at the farmer‘s market I smelled a butterfly bush plant for sale and childhood memories came flooding back. Juicy Couture by Juicy Couture was my grandmother's signature scent because she liked the Schnauzers on the bottle so Tuberose always reminds me of her + the smell of face powder. I could go on forever…

like ok yeah it is 2013/14 again i'm talking about specifically the rose jam body wash + perfume (not to be confused with the body spray) and the sleepy body wash + lotion. could literally just be nostalgia but both of those are very comforting to me … i just showered so now i'm thinking about it in high school my friend came in one day smelling actually insane. turns out it was the lush sleepy cream. forgot about it for a few years but we're back. rose jam body wash was my first intro to lush at 12. but nostalgia aside, the perfume projects and lasts very well!!! recommend. i have the travel size and it's always in my bag. my cat loves both of those scents i work across the street from lush and can always smell it from the outside whenever i pass it also the dean blunt song obv
