Decided to rewatch girls because I’m sick and bedridden. The first time I watched Girls I was 18, and was living in a hostel in Times Square. I remember really wanting to be like the girls.
The last time I watched this show all the way through I was 20, and I was living in Brooklyn during the pandemic. I remember watching it and missing getting to see my friends and explore the city.
Now I’m 23, and am the same age as the girls. It resonates differently now, as I am finding myself in situations like theirs, or cringing at how stupid I think they all are at times. It’s such an odd comfort watch.

seems like everyone and their mum is doing this but it’s for good reason!!! truly has stood the test of time, might be even better now that i’m not a 15 yr old yet to experience the pain of being a woman in her 20s. kind of a painful watch that makes you want to cringe every 5 minutes but….. it’s so good

I'm watching Sex and the City much like everyone else rn. I'm watching it for the first time actually. But it feels like everyone else is rewatching rn, much like everyone rewatching Girls in early 2022. I love how collective rewatches happen. Last living monoculture type beat.
