Today someone asked me what’s my favorite local café here in L.A. Gotta be Dinosaur Coffee. Great espresso drinks, but also a clean cup of mud and terrific pastries.

If you're into coffee and have been to LA or dealt with someone from LA, you've probably heard of MARU. It's for a good reason. Maru coffee is delicious, and if you're able to get to the Los Feliz location, you can see some cool people getting off fits, a respite from the butt wipe tee and big hat culture of Venice and West Hollywood. The creme de la creme order is an iced americano with oat milk and an almond croissant (which is good enough to be a rec. on its own)

hailing from Amsterdam, Dak is the best roaster in the game. Seriously cannot go wrong with them. Espresso, drip, cold brew, doesn’t matter.

I like that it’s a straightforward place. If you want a pie and a burger you go to Pie ‘N Burger. If you need a shirt laundered in the French style you go to French Hand Laundry. If you need a burrito fast you go to Burrito Express, etc. etc.
