I grew up watching Austen adaptations as my Grannie and my mum and her sister were all big fans. I find the opening music now so soothing and comforting I can put it on to sleep when I’m unwell or sad (it was the only thing I could watch the day after I had part of my cervix burnt off).
also shout out to my yearly Gilmore Girls rewatch.
My ultimate life long comfort. Grew up in an Austen loving family and this adaptation is everything. You can tell when I’m really ill cause I’ll rewatch it everyday and have it playing in the background when I go to sleep. It’s got me through so much. Thank you Greta Gerwig the Barbie movie for siding with me against the film adaptation (it’s good ok it just can’t compare). Jennifer Ehle the woman you are.
Watched most, but not all, of it before with my mum. Now rewatching it because the slow period drama genre is soothing. Though I am not soothed rn, I am slightly tormented by the slow burn love story.
1. The office us
2. The queens gambit
3. Gilmore Girls (more for the nostalgia than anything else)
4. Derry Girls
(5. Anne with an E, extra one bc i cant choose 4)
I used to be envious of people who had “MySpace friends” or “tumblr friends”. Now I have PI.FYI friends. Thank you capyboppy for your lovely letter and this illustration of a capybara and a mouse with fruit on our heads, it made me weirdly emotional ❤️
