just finished the maggie gyllenhaal audiobook which was so entertaining. so well written and so insightful into the minutiae of being a girl. the magnifying glass she uses to describe her surroundings and feelings! she can't sleep and she can't read! the metaphors!!! so tragic to think how she overcame this but still came to such a sad end :( and even worse to think of how hard she was on herself and how revered she is now

I canโ€™t say itโ€™s my favorite because itโ€™s viscerally disturbing to the point of being literally nauseating but itโ€™s well-researched, deftly written, and a perfect example of the experimental direction Joyce Carol Oates has taken with her work in recent years. I adore her she is a treasure and probably one of the best American authors to ever liveโ€ฆ

i am sober too and legit the only way i meet other ppl is thru friends and doing activities outside w friends. u don't have to be extroverted, if you rly want it then you'll learn/practice the skills necessary to find connections. if u rly dont wanna do that then joining discords might be an option; my friend legit is marrying the dude she met on reddit lol.
