I have become an IMAX fiend of late. You just can’t beat it. The sound experience alone is worth the extra price but you also get enveloped by the visuals. It’s the ultimate love letter to cinema. Every film ever should be in IMAX. I will never watch Dune 2 or Oppenheimer on anything except an IMAX screen. I recently watched Civil War in IMAX and the extra helping of extreme tension it delivered made me want to die. Right now I’m holding off rewatching Challengers until it gets put in UK IMAX screens. It’s not a want, but a need.

This was the first time I went to the movies after the pandemic (even before cinema was never a priority because of the ticket price) and it made me fall in love with movies again.

Went to a screening of “Daisies” at a tiny old theater in Amsterdam this evening and all I can say is this is exactly how I want to spend my time. If you love to do it at home and it feels somewhat indulgent, why not do it while traveling in a different country?
Another theater is playing “Chungking Express” later this week… I might have to go.
