my £1 sewing project

whilst its not yet finished i’m still rather proud of it, despite the dodgy hems and seams i’m #persevering the charity shop clearance rail will always have my back for cheap sewing projects 🙏 sometimes i don’t even end up wearing these clothes, mostly they’re just me testing my own abilities and patience because i refuse to use measurements, patterns or any sort of guide (they overwhelm me).

sewing practice: deconstructing clothes

If you're trying to learn how to sew but you're too scared to jump into a full-blown project, lowkey I think deconstructing clothes you don't like & then sewing them back together again with the stitches you know can be great practice! You have 0 loss too because I mean hey, it wasn't a top you were gonna wear anyway If engineers can take shit apart and put it back together, so should we lol

Have never learned and the initial learning of the basics is seeming scary 🤒 but I keep seeing things and thinking that as an unemployed student I rly need to be making not buying things. also fun and customisable! The seamstresses in my life have so much fun 🤩

writing limericks with your friends

someone gifted me a collection of limericks at the end of the year and now I can’t stop writing them. you can come up with one in about 5 minutes with the power of the internet (for rhyming purposes). my friends and I have been trading them back and forth for weeks now and we are definitely improving. just remember that limericks are, above all else, supposed to be dirty/gross/crude.
