Hey Tyler, you can ignore all the other recs right away. My friends refer to me as the MERCH MASTERā„¢ļø and Iā€™ve become the go-to info person when itā€™s time to make little silly shirts since Iā€™ve spent the last decade making one off designs with different brands of t-shirts. Let me be your sensei. LA Apparel is great, I use them most often because I think theyā€™re worth the premium. For the summer, their 6.5 oz shirts are light and come in a few fits (oversized, cropped, etc.). I think their 8.5 oz are also great but due to the weight they always end up holding their shape even once washed a dozen times. Not a bad thing, just never feels like it breaks in. Comfort Colors are a great choice because theyā€™re mid-tier in terms of price and they age great. Just take into account the fade is drastic; black t-shirts end up grey over time which I like but some people might not. I think the garment dying has something to do with it. Only other gripe is quality control isnā€™t great; Iā€™ve had batches come with messed up hems or collars. Doesnā€™t always happen, but it has on occasion. Iā€™d stick to their heavyweight because although marked as heavy, it isnā€™t at all. Hanes Beefy Tā€™s are a long game t-shirt. They feel cheap and weird for the first 100 wears and then from 101 onwards theyā€™re perfectly broken in. Sure theyā€™re the ā€˜cheapā€™ choice but thatā€™s not a bad thing. Iā€™m currently wearing a Jesus Piece band t-shirt I bought in 2020 ā€” itā€™s perfect now. As Colour is a relatively new contender thatā€™s pitched to be the LA Apparel killer (spoiler: it isnā€™t). Although good they seem to be stacked up closer to Comfort Colors than LAA. Their heavy t feels closer to mid-weight than heavy, but itā€™s still great for the summer. I also like their classic t-shirt, just fits snugger than what you might like. They have a new class -2ā€ which gives you the snug feeling with a cropped length; I love it. If you need recs for print shops, I have one I use out of Brooklyn called WĆ¼nder. They do great printing and Iā€™ve used them for shirts, totes, and even embroidery on hats. Excellent quality. Iā€™m also a fan of Beyond Belief out of North Carolina (note: he is a friend of mine), he ships and his pricing is competitive. Quality is excellent too. Really comes down to how big of an order you have + how fast you need it. If you have any more questions feel free to reach out.

better than LA Apparelā€”probably the best USA-made blank you can get. a bit more expensive but higher quality, better fit, more ethically produced. I run a brand in Brooklyn called Extra Vitamins and itā€™s almost exclusively what we use. we also print (and tie dye) everything by hand in our studioā€”in case you want help getting stuff made or have more questions send me a message! would be cool to work with yā€™all āœŒļø

Small batch jackets/tees/etc. with a focus on high-quality materials and sustainability. I have some of these Six Mile tees as great basics options and I want some more when they finally come back in stock. Will eventually pick up a jacket as well, waiting to fall 100% in love with one due to them being a little pricey.

I have to start off this recommendation with an apology, as for all your Northern Hemisphere-based folks wont be able to find this easily as I stock up when I go home to Australia. BUT, in all my years of hunting for the perfect white t-shirt that hangs just right, I have found my holy grail. Specifically, the Boody menā€™s crew neck t-shirt (NOT the new ā€œclassicā€ which is mostly viscose, ew), bit the original which is 95% bamboo. I buy them in a Small and they are the perfect oversized t-shirt. Buttery soft, expensive-looking and, most importantly, stay looking fresh after theyā€™ve tumbled about in a washing machine. Iā€™m hoarding a few!

florinegrassenhopper riotgrrrl brendanooooo slowdazzle buck_mcgraw and indianjones ā€” we did it. Not only did we successfully meet for drinks, but we also schemed the hostile takeover of this app from tyler tonight. In all seriousness ā€” weird that an app I downloaded in April would make genuinely want to drive back into Brooklyn during end of day traffic for a happy hour. Great app filled with great people.

I feel like thereā€™s a special connectivity on this app that I havenā€™t felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010ā€™s tumblr. The fact that you canā€™t promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isnā€™t mass video content like Tik Tok is great. Itā€™s not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup). Thanks for your participation on this niche little app. I smile reading all the recs and all the comments and all the asks. Hope weā€™ll all be here for a long time.

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. Itā€™s made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love. I just never thought Iā€™d feel the same way about URL friends. Iā€™m constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed. Itā€™s nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. Iā€™m going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
