Hey Tyler, you can ignore all the other recs right away. My friends refer to me as the MERCH MASTERā¢ļø and Iāve become the go-to info person when itās time to make little silly shirts since Iāve spent the last decade making one off designs with different brands of t-shirts. Let me be your sensei.
LA Apparel is great, I use them most often because I think theyāre worth the premium. For the summer, their 6.5 oz shirts are light and come in a few fits (oversized, cropped, etc.). I think their 8.5 oz are also great but due to the weight they always end up holding their shape even once washed a dozen times. Not a bad thing, just never feels like it breaks in.
Comfort Colors are a great choice because theyāre mid-tier in terms of price and they age great. Just take into account the fade is drastic; black t-shirts end up grey over time which I like but some people might not. I think the garment dying has something to do with it. Only other gripe is quality control isnāt great; Iāve had batches come with messed up hems or collars. Doesnāt always happen, but it has on occasion. Iād stick to their heavyweight because although marked as heavy, it isnāt at all.
Hanes Beefy Tās are a long game t-shirt. They feel cheap and weird for the first 100 wears and then from 101 onwards theyāre perfectly broken in. Sure theyāre the ācheapā choice but thatās not a bad thing. Iām currently wearing a Jesus Piece band t-shirt I bought in 2020 ā itās perfect now.
As Colour is a relatively new contender thatās pitched to be the LA Apparel killer (spoiler: it isnāt). Although good they seem to be stacked up closer to Comfort Colors than LAA. Their heavy t feels closer to mid-weight than heavy, but itās still great for the summer. I also like their classic t-shirt, just fits snugger than what you might like. They have a new class -2ā which gives you the snug feeling with a cropped length; I love it.
If you need recs for print shops, I have one I use out of Brooklyn called WĆ¼nder. They do great printing and Iāve used them for shirts, totes, and even embroidery on hats. Excellent quality. Iām also a fan of Beyond Belief out of North Carolina (note: he is a friend of mine), he ships and his pricing is competitive. Quality is excellent too. Really comes down to how big of an order you have + how fast you need it. If you have any more questions feel free to reach out.

Small batch jackets/tees/etc. with a focus on high-quality materials and sustainability.
I have some of these Six Mile tees as great basics options and I want some more when they finally come back in stock. Will eventually pick up a jacket as well, waiting to fall 100% in love with one due to them being a little pricey.

I have to start off this recommendation with an apology, as for all your Northern Hemisphere-based folks wont be able to find this easily as I stock up when I go home to Australia. BUT, in all my years of hunting for the perfect white t-shirt that hangs just right, I have found my holy grail. Specifically, the Boody menās crew neck t-shirt (NOT the new āclassicā which is mostly viscose, ew), bit the original which is 95% bamboo. I buy them in a Small and they are the perfect oversized t-shirt. Buttery soft, expensive-looking and, most importantly, stay looking fresh after theyāve tumbled about in a washing machine. Iām hoarding a few!

I feel like thereās a special connectivity on this app that I havenāt felt in a long time, maybe since early 2010ās tumblr. The fact that you canāt promote yourself like IG is wonderful. The fact that there isnāt mass video content like Tik Tok is great. Itās not this monetized / paid sponsorship app. People are here because they want to be a part of something with nothing to gain besides friendship. Seeing the URL -> IRL meetups warms my heart so much (waiting for an NYC or Brooklyn meetup).

I think a life rule for me is to surround myself with people who know more / are smarter / are cooler than me and just absorb their aura by listening / observing them. Itās made me the incredibly smart / cool person you all know and love.
I just never thought Iād feel the same way about URL friends. Iām constantly listening to the songs I see posted here, reading the articles, subbing to newsletters, and googling topics that get tossed onto the feed.
Itās nice to know you can become a more rounded person by just absorbing what your mutuals post on here. Iām going to sit on my couch, have a cocktail and digest my lovely feed. Happy Sunday!
