short stories by the author of The Ring, all centered around the theme of water. very creepy & the storytelling is fantastic. i also highly recommend reading The Ring if you like those movies, if i remember correctly itβs told from a slightly different perspective but goes much deeper into the story. definitely recommend if you like horror!

helpmeet by naben ruthnum is a tight little body horror-ish novella, the icarus girl by helen oyeyemi for more magical-realism type horror, i love everything by john darnielle who kind of runs the horror-adjacent gamut but universal harvester is probably the most traditionally "horror"

the first thing to be said is that this recommendation applies equally to everyone

at this point, you have transitioned into a girl, and everything else is just showing off; decide on a new name; get a therapist and a doctor who are supportive; pump your body full of the hormones it needs; get some cute new clothes and burn your old shit; ask for help picking out and doing your makeup
