Score by the masterful Ennio Morricone. Any score with him at the helm is magical, but this one in particular with the scenes in the film felt like sonic poetry. The film itself is great, but the score is what moved me most.

This genre is literally the perfect music to romanticize your life to. Put it on while driving somewhere, cooking dinner, laying in the sun. It makes everything feel like life might be beautiful. Morricone, Umiliani, and Piccioni are all composers that fall under this category. These men put their whole souls into these scores istg. Favorite pieces: Pelle di Luna, Piero Umiliani Incontro La contessa, Bruno Nicolai Chaser, Piero Umiliani

One of the GOATed movie soundtracks, perfect from end to end. We tend to focus on the aesthetics, storytelling, costuming, and complex relationships in Wes Anderson films, but let’s give our flowers to the music direction too 💐 (I see you Mark Mothersbaugh) If you’re looking for a way to romanticize your life, I highly recommend listening to movie soundtracks, especially when you’re out and about. It lends a sense of gravitas mixed with whimsy, depending on what type of movie score/OST you play. I’m giving The Royal Tenenbaums a spin today in honor of Gene Hackman, another GOAT.

morricone is known for cinematic soundtracks from spaghetti westerns and such, but he's got a whole collection of 1960s lounge music that is just so genuinely fun and silly. something about the dippy little organ in this song and the toot-y french horn just makes me happy.

My current obsession. Heard it in the film the Killer by David Fincher a few weeks ago and have been unable to stop listening to in since then. It’s such a sultry song.

Anything by her, especially her albums Painless and Inside Out. Her music is hard to categorize and combines a variety of genres. Such a unique sound.

My favorite poem changes frequently, but this one hit me hard recently. “How should we like it were stars to burn With a passion for us we could not return? If equal affection cannot be, Let the more loving one be me.” Such a beautiful description of unrequited love.
